Have you ever watched a major sporting event, and thought to yourself “I wish I was there”? I am not talking about watching the game from the crowd, but actually playing in it. It may seem like a very out of reach dream, but I know a fair amount of people who have been very successful in sports. My friend Ryan Ludzik, son of 80’s NHL star Steve Ludzik has played hockey as long as I have, he now plays Junior A and the reason he is there is not just because of his natural ability but because of grit and determination. Ryan Is out there every day and is out on the ice for hours. That’s the reason he has a shot at the NHL and I do not.
Practice isn’t just key in sports, it is key in every day life for just about everything. For example: I remember being about 14 years old just starting to play the guitar. I thought it was boring, and that I wasn’t going any where with it. After taking lessons for 2 years, I now give lessons in blues and rock, and basically anything the student would like to learn. I stuck with the axe because I am determined I will do something with music one day. I may not be a rock star, or even in a band when I am older, but who knows? I may even open up my own recording studio, and The next Beatles may be recording in it. That has been a thought of mine for quite some time.
At the end of the day I realize that practice is a neccessary ingredient in beng successful. You also have to find what your passion is, do not be stubern. Don’t just hope you find a nack for something accidentally, go out there and discover what fascinates you. That is all.

As a young musician, I am interested in many genres of music. Some of those include: Jazz, fusion, blues, punk, hardcore, death metal, thrash metal, and straight up Rock N Roll. I currently live in Hamilton for the school year, but I am originally from Niagara Falls. The music scene there is unbelieveable . So many awesome bands including: Elements, Dorian Gray, and the Ceremonial snips. Hardcore seems to be the genre thats taking Niagara by suprise. I recently started an acoustic duo with my buddy David Pitman. We play mostly folk hop. It combines the elements of funk, folk, and hip hop. We decided to call ourselves “Bedroom Workshop”. It may sound lame at first, but there is meaning behind it as we record in my room through garage band. We only have 3 songs out currently: Anna, Kings of Kentucky, and Rez room rhymin.. but we will have many more out shortly.

For my first blog I am choosing new music, and upcoming bands as my theme. I chose this because I am really into the music scene and recently started a band. We are called the bedroom workshop. Sounds kind of dorky I know, but we chose this because we record on garage band in my room. We play mostly acoustic along the lines of funk, and hip hop.
